  • Overview

    Quartz is seeking someone who is interested in establishing and/or growing a career as a Business Analyst. The primary focus of this position will provide technical support and expertise to our Provider Services department.  A Business Analyst (BA) understands business problems and opportunities in the context of requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. 

    Responsibilities

    • Build maintenance of provider records (provider, vendor, place of service and network) to ensure accurate claim payment and maintaining departmental goals for quality, quantity, and timeliness.
    • Generate reports necessary to ensure accurate claims payment based on reimbursement or governmental regulations
    • Serve as a mentor for Provider Services Specialist staff
    • Support Provider Services with the design and testing of provider reimbursement methodologies to allow for accurate and efficient payment.
    • Collecting, gather and analyze data to formulate basic recommendations, policies or solutions.
    • Conduct trouble-shooting and research to determine root causes of issues such as communication, process, training, system defects or other gaps.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of education requirement.
    • Health insurance experience is preferred – specifically in an analytical role related to fees, provider set up and benefit plans
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (including advanced MS Excel knowledge to set up pivot tables, formulas, and macros) and familiarity with query tools such as Business Objects or Crystal Reports.
    • Ability to problem solve using analytical thinking skills.
    • Works well independently – must be inquisitive and seek answers to complex questions without being prompted.
    • Ability to develop rapport with end users, co-workers and third-party vendors.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
