  • Overview

    Quartz is seeking an Account Manager – Large Group with excellent communication skills to join our organization. This role is responsible for marketing, servicing, and achieving retention goals for an assigned book of business. The Account Manager – Large Group manages customers with 51 or more total employees.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with employers, members and brokers
    • Use consultative sales skills to influence decision-making and Open Enrollment processes while negotiating pricing and benefits to support renewals
    • Facilitate renewal process with agents, employers, underwriting and internal company departments with analysis and delivery of renewal rates and alternatives/ customization as needed
    • Utilize marketplace intelligence to identify competitive situations within the renewal process with proactive communication to leadership
    • Manage and coordinate all service needs of assigned book of business including regular service schedules based on account size and needs
    • Provide timely information to inquiries from agents, groups, and members on any benefit enhancements and/or changes, company procedures, etc.
    • Promote electronic Explanations of Benefits (EOBs), online billing and payment
    • Provide training to groups on secure online portal capabilities and processes
    • Coordinate and represent the company at wellness initiatives with assigned groups to include HRA and biometric screening events, wellness analysis, reconciliation and reporting, and health fairs
    • Stay informed of enhancements to product line, changes in the healthcare industry and associated legislation while providing available resources to agents and employers
    • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree or equivalent business background
    • 3+ years of experience working within the health insurance industry
    • 1+ year(s) of demonstrated success in sales role
    • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels both within and outside of the organization
    • Negotiation skills and a high level of persistence and consistency in meeting deadlines
    • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; understands when to seek guidance and approval in making decisions and providing innovative solutions
    • Demonstrates effective organization and prioritization skills to ensure that customer needs are met in a timely manner
    • Ability to work in an environment with frequent product and market change
    • Possess an intermediate understanding of employer wellness needs such as HRA and biometric screenings

    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Wisconsin Insurance Licensing for Health/Life or ability to obtain within two months of hire
    • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel to client and broker meetings off-site within the assigned territory
