  • Overview

    Quartz is seeking an innovative problem solver who is familiar with medical or health insurance billing for a Premium Billing Analyst opportunity. This position requires up-to-date knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the Health Insurance Marketplace (HIM) to ensure operational compliance with government and industry regulations. Also responsible for adhering to HIPAA and Confidentiality Guidelines.

    Responsibilities

    • Complete the daily processes associated with the Quartz Health Insurance Marketplace policies.
    • Perform analysis to determine delinquency status.
    • Send out late payment notices to HIM members who do not pay by their due date.
    • Process terminations for those members that do not pay by the end of their grace period.
    • Manage the collection process for binder payments.
    • Process refunds for terminated coverages.
    • Reconcile the federal government receivable account on a monthly basis.
    • Answer premium billing questions from individual subscribers, group contacts, and internal sources in a courteous, professional, and timely manner. Includes responding to telephone calls, emails, and customer service tickets. Includes taking customer payments over the phone and analyzing account balances to validate transaction activity for the customer.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related business field, or equivalent & relevant professional work experience.
    • 1-2 years of relevant experience working in a professional setting in a Finance/Accounting functional area, with exposure to transactional processing related to billing and cash receipts
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, link workbooks, etc.)
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to interact with people at all levels within and outside of the organization.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete in a timely manner.
