Overview

Quartz is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst with expertise in pharmacy to join our team! This role involves driving strategic decision-making through data analysis, financial modeling, and collaboration across teams, to support pricing strategies, reserves, rates, risk assessment, and financial planning efforts, ensuring the financial stability of Quartz.

  • Starting salary range based upon skills and experience: $98,900 – $123,700 plus robust benefits package

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to uncover trends and risks
  • Build and maintain models for pricing, forecasting, and risk assessment
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis and scenario testing to evaluate the impact of different variables on financial projections
  • Design viable solutions by considering a wide range of data sources, tools, and techniques
  • Complete comprehensive data analysis and interpret results to support business decisions
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders on complex topics
  • Conduct research and identify innovative solutions to actuarial problems
  • Lead pricing of insurance products by performing rate reviews, loss ratio analysis, and competitor benchmarking
  • Collaborate with product development teams to assess the financial feasibility of new product initiatives
  • Design and implement underwriting guidelines and risk classification systems
  • Prepare regulatory filings, including rate filings, reserve certifications, and financial reports
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support regulatory audits and examinations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of actuarial experience,
  • OR Associate’s degree with 7+ years of actuarial experience,
  • OR High School equivalency with 8 years of actuarial experience
  • Progress towards and commitment to attaining ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries): 3+ exams passed
  • Strong Preference for expertise in Pharmacy
