Intern - Actuarial

Quartz is seeking two interns to join our Actuarial team from January – December 2026.  This paid internship will offer valuable experience and growth opportunities to prepare you for the next steps in your actuarial career.

You will participate and learn important skills in real-world situations that can be applied to your career beyond the classroom to include, but not be limited to:

• Technical Abilities: Microsoft Excel, SQL, VBA, R & SAS
• Health Insurance Industry Knowledge: products, regulations, competitors, recent news
• Professional Skills: communication, time management, workplace etiquette
• Actuarial Knowledge: actuarial tasks, analyses, and pricing
• Exposure to underwriting and other non-standard actuarial tasks
• Opportunity to automate processes and workflows

• Demonstrated commitment to the Actuarial career path
• Ability to work one full calendar year (January 2026 – December 2026); 10-20 hours/week during the school year and 40 hours/week during the summer months
• Graduating between December 2026 and May 2027
• Preferred Majors: Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting or Related Major
• At least one exam passed
• Must live within a 3-hour radius of Madison, WI and be willing to travel to headquarters from June to August

Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
