Overview

We are seeking an Enterprise Data Management Intern to join our Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team for Summer 2027. This paid internship offers hands-on experience working with enterprise data, analytics, governance, and business processes in the healthcare industry while providing professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do 

Throughout the summer, you will gain real-world experience supporting Enterprise Data Management initiatives while developing both technical and professional skills. 

Enterprise Data & Analytics 

  • Gain a broad understanding of Enterprise Data Management processes and data governance practices at Quartz 
  • Support data acquisition, validation, and testing activities 
  • Assist with documenting data flows, metadata, business rules, and process documentation 
  • Help maintain and improve onboarding materials, workflows, and operational documentation 
  • Participate in efforts to improve data quality, organization, and accessibility 

Project & Business Support 

  • Assist with ServiceNow requests and support ad hoc data-related inquiries 
  • Collaborate with team members on short-term projects and process improvement initiatives 
  • Support project tracking and workflow management through Jira 
  • Learn how business requirements are translated into technical solutions 
  • Assist with documenting source-to-target mappings and data lineage 

Technical Development Opportunities 

Depending on business needs and project assignments, interns may gain exposure to: 

  • SQL code reviews and data validation activities 
  • Python-based data analysis and automation 
  • Data governance and metadata management practices 
  • Healthcare fraud prevention and claims-related analytics 
  • Business reporting and dashboard development 
  • Data asset portfolio management 
  • Requirements gathering and solution design 
  • Healthcare products, regulations, and industry trends

Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must: 

  • Demonstrated interest in Enterprise Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Governance, or a related career path 
  • Have experience with SQL and/or Python through coursework, projects, internships, or extracurricular activities 
  • Graduate between December 2027 and May 2028 
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week from June to August 2027 
  • Must live within a 3-hour radius of Madison, WI and be willing to travel to headquarters from June to August 
  • Attend the summer intern program kickoff and retreat (June 1-4, 2027), and final intern presentation (Late July/Early August) 
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without requiring work visa sponsorship from Quartz, now or in the future 

 

Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
